The first time you go to the gym can be daunting. Those that have never been are introduced to a lot of new equipment that they might have never used or even seen before. If fitness is completely new to you, how do you know whether you’re working out properly?
At Core Gym, we want your experience to be as enjoyable as possible, especially if you’re a newcomer. We’ve got some tips when it comes to workout plans for beginners and our in-house team of personal trainers are always on hand to help you when you need it.
Workout Plans For Beginners
There are many factors that will affect your optimum workout plan, which will continue to change and evolve over time as you get used to your workouts and you build up your strength and stamina. You might want to lose weight or maybe you want to work on muscle growth. Whatever your reasons, you can personalise your workouts to meet your needs.
The best workout plans for beginners should last for around 45 minutes to an hour. It’s important not to push yourself too hard at first until your body gets used to training, and this goes for the frequency of your gym sessions as well. To start, aim to work out around 3 times a week on alternate days. As you progress, you can slowly increase your sessions to a frequency that suits you.
If muscle gain is your focus, don’t run before you can walk! If you lift more than you’re able to, you could cause yourself and potentially others around you some real physical damage. As a rule, start low and slowly work your way up until you feel you’re lifting at around two thirds of your strength. From there, you can gently increase this limit week by week.
TechnoGym Equipment
In terms of your equipment at Core Gym, you’ll love the latest TechnoGym upgrades we’ve added. The machines are quick and easy to set up and get going, and include everything from treadmills and bikes to rowers and racks. State-of-the-art technology takes workouts up a notch with real-time feedback to track your stats as well as featuring apps and programmes to personalise and max out your performance.
In general, go slow and focus on your techniques first and foremost as perfecting these will ensure you’re getting the most out of your workouts while avoiding injury and strain. Take short rests between your sets but keep moving so that your muscles remain active and your heart rate doesn’t drop. Always remember to warm down at the end with dynamic stretches.

Some of the factors that might impact your workout plan are things such as your gender, your strength, your weight and your goals. The tips above are great to help give you a headstart here at Core Gym, but our team of personal trainers can really take workout plans for beginners to the next level.
